Nilgiri is about 47 kilometers south of Bandarban District on the Bandarban-Chimbuk-Thanchi road. It is one of the tallest mountains and beautiful tourist spot in Bangladesh. It seems like the sky is kissing top of the mountains over the distant horizon. It is approximately 3500 feet high situated in Thanci Thana, In rainy season here creates a great scenery, the whole spot is covered with the blanket of clouds.
How to go Nilgiri
To go to Nilgiri you must come to Bandarban first. If You are traveling from Dhaka, you will get luxury AC and Non-AC bus from renowned bus company such as Shyamoli Paribahan, Hanif Enterprise and Saintmartin Paribahan. For quicker journey you can also fly to Chittagong from Dhaka by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines and Novo Airlines. They have daily flights to Chittagong. For those want to travel by train, they can take the intercity train from Dhaka to Chittagong and then from Chittagong travel by bus to Bandarban. It will take 2 hours to reach Bandarban and from Bandarban you can hire a jeep or go to Tanchai bus stop where you will get buses and jeeps which directly go to Nilgiri.

Nilgiri Resort : Darjeeling of Bangle
There is nice looking resort named Nilgiri Resort in the top of the mountain maintain by the Bangladesh Army. You have to book the resort through 69 Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Bandarban Cantonment. There are three well-furnished cottages and three tents having 4 beds. There is also restaurant, helipad etc. Electricity available from 6-9 pm and temperature near 10-25 degree Celsius. Nilgiri Resort area is locally known as Darjeeling of Bangle.
