Sreemangal is an Upazila which is situated in Moulvibazar district in Sylhet Division. It is famous for tea garden. Its natural scenery is very attractive here and birds are twittering always here. There is only tea research institute in Sreemangal of Bangladesh which named BTRI (Bangladesh Tea Research Institute). It is two kilometers away from the main town. You can visit BTRI by auto rickshaw with the permission from the concerned authority. If you are traveling by road you’ll see a statue “cha konna” which is stands for welcome you. But if you come in Sreemangal by train you’ll miss to see this statue. Seven-color tea or seven layer tea (সাত রং চা) is most famous with tourists and local people. The seven-layer tea invented by Romesh Ram Gour after discovering that different tea leaves have different densities. Seven Layer Tea can be purchased from the Nilkantha Tea Cabin in Srimongol, Moulvibazar.
In Sreemangal, tea stall offers a unique color combination of tea. The tourists must visit all Sreemangal Tourist Places because of its natural scenery with beautiful unique tea garden.
How to go
There are 4 ways to get from Dhaka to Sreemangal by bus, driving own car or rent a car or by flight. Both AC and non AC luxury bus services available from many renowned private transport company Shyamoli Paribahan, Hanif Enterprise, Saudia Paribahan etc. If you want to go by air you could choose Bangladesh Biman Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, Novo Air which operating daily flight from Dhaka to Sylhet.
