The Mitali Express is an international train service that travels from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh to Siliguri in the Indian state of West Bengal. This is the third train to run between the two countries. This route was closed in 1965 after the Indo-Pakistani war. It was launched after 56 years from March 2022. This train service was launched on March 26, 2021 as a symbol of friendship between Bangladesh and India. There was another international train service Dhaka to Kolkata Maitree Express started from April 14, 2008.
The Train will start from New Jalpaiguri via Haldibari and reaches Dhaka via Chilahati, Nilphamari, Parbatipur, Hili, Natore, Ishwardi and Tangail. Then the train will start its journey from Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station, then stopped at Parbatipur and Chilahati. Then cross the border and go to Haldibari, West Bengal India. Mitali Express Train Ticket Price
Bangladesh Railway is selling tickets in three categories and each ticket of berth would be $44 and 15% VAT and Tk500 travel tax would be added to the ticket price.
